Official transcripts are required upon acceptance of verbal offer). *If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.*If you need assistance, please contact us at HR.Hiring@tamuc.edu**SUMMARY:****Adjunct Faculty** refers to an educator hired to teach on a course by course basis throughout an academic year.**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the required discipline. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.* Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards (for didactic courses).* Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments (for didactic courses).* Supervise clinical practice activities (simulation and clinical agencies) as assigned.* Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class and clinical, assignments, and examinations.* Participates in course planning meetings as appropriate.* Submits end of course reports as appropriate.* Assist/mentor students as needed.* Other duties as assigned.**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*** **Education:** Master’s degree in Nursing.* **Experience:** One year clinical experience in the teaching area.* **Knowledge / Skills:** Knowledge of patient care in practice area related to teaching assignment. Skilled in teaching pedagogy and nursing skills related to teaching assignment. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.* **Ability to:** Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.* **Licensing/Professional Certifications:** Texas R.N. Licensure or Texas APRN licensure as FNP (graduate clinical courses)* **Physical Requirements:** able to perform nursing and teaching skills associated with assignment* **Other Requirements:** Documentation of meeting clinical readiness requirements (immunizations, insurance and BCLS as required of students).**PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:*** Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials (MSN with an emphasis in nursing education).* College or University teaching experience.* Evidence of teaching excellence.* Prior relevant industry experience.* Online or hybrid teaching experience.**SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:**N/AAll positions are security-sensitive.
